If you're using a newer computer, you no doubt meet "defenders" demands. First, go to your control panel, add/remove programs and remove any previous firewall programs that you might have, like ZoneAlarm, as the two will more than likely conflict. Then restart the computer so that the deletion changes can be finalized. Then go to www.microsoft.com and you'll see on their mainpage the download area for Defender 2. Let it verify the authenticity of your windows version and then download Defender and let it install it for you onto the hard drive. Then, restart your computer again so that the new changes can take effect. Then setup your settings in the new program the way you want them. If I can help further, let me know. I'll be happy to help. Larry RadioShack
