I hope you don't mind a dental assistants opinion.
You stated that the gingiva surrounding the tooth is fine. This does lead me to believe it may be caused by your TMJ. You also stated direct pain to the teeth. Is it possible that you grind your teeth? Direct pain to your teeth can be caused by nerve damage due to grinding. That will cause TMJ problems.
Although, I do know from experience that when a wisdom tooth becomes infected it may be difficult to open your mouth due to the pressure on your TMJ from the infection. It may be possible that the infection is on the Distal of the tooth. Which would make it difficult to see w/o a mouth mirror. Sometimes oral infections are not visible, but I'm sure you already knew that.
Like I said before...I am not a Dr., only an assistant, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Get an OPG and maybe TMJ views if you think it's the TMJ (actually, the ENT's even can't read the TMJ views and tend to order CT)
The OPG will tell you where your wisdom teeth are at. If they are pushing up and causing your mouth pain then you might need them out.
What's it like if you don't bite on your teeth but waggle your jaw around? If it hurts to do that, it might by the TMJ's (or your pterygoid insertions)
WOW - TOO HOT on TLA's

Everyone has TMJ, We have 2 of them. TMJ is temporomandibular joint. TMD is Temporomandibular disorder. A stabilization appliance solves 90% of tmj pain. You need to have a radiograph of your wisdom teeth to determine if that might be the source of your pain. Tooth pain is also relieved by ibuprofen. See your dentist.

I am no doctor, but I suffer from TMD (yes it is called TMD, not TMJ) TMD causes this extreme pain which ever direction you move your jaw. When I get a flare up, I am prescribed muscle relaxers, which help a little. See an oral surgeon. And be prepared to pay most of the bills yourself. Insurance companies ( yes I did my research ) do not recognize this a true medical disorder. My scan was $1800.

i'm a dentist. Treating pregnant sufferers could be somewhat troublesome. it is, identifying while to handle and while to no longer handle is a controversy of comparing the aptitude disadvantages of rendering scientific care with the aptitude disadvantages of witholding scientific care. to attempt and simplify concerns for dentists (who're no longer precisely professionals the place obstetrics and fetal wellbeing are worried), there are some protocols for treating pregnant sufferers. they're as follows: 1st, 2d, and third trimesters, emergency artwork is permissible in any respect cases. "Emergency" potential soreness and/or an infection in touch. 2d and a million/2-way via third trimester, recurring artwork is permissible. so a procedures as you're worried (and so a procedures as your dentist must be stricken), being in consistent, severe soreness isn't solid on your being pregnant. neither is being on narcotic soreness drugs (which DO go the placenta and attain your fetus). for this reason, the question to hand is this: does the understanding the enamel could desire to be extracted or no longer? no count if it is wrongly decayed, then the respond is "definite". in case your soreness is coming from contaminated gingiva around the understanding the enamel (stated as "pericoronitis"), then the respond is "no"--i.e. the gingiva could be taken care of with antibiotics and an antibacterial mouth rinse, and probably an consumer-friendly surgical treatment the place the gingiva is trimmed off. it could have been efficient in case you instructed us what the scientific expert concept replaced into inflicting your soreness, and why he did no longer handle it.
