I recently lost over 60 pounds by doing this; No burgers, no pizza, no bread (wheat bread if any), NO SODA. There is a rule in dieting, and I am not trying to insult anyone here, but dark is good, white is bad, meaning no white bread, but wheat can be ok, no white sugar, but brown sugar is ok if really need to, white rice=no, brown rice=ok at times. This rule doesnt go with everything, but it does set some boundaries. Also, eat a bowl of salad b4 you get to anything else on the table. And dont over-do the salads with dressing. You can eat as much salad as you want, but for everything else remember this, if it is bigger than your palm, you shouldnt eat it. Now that is step 1. Step 2 is exercise. Swimming and running are The Best way to loose weight from my experience. But you have to do both at the same time for this to really work. After you loose some weight, you can reward yourself with something. But trust me, after you loose a couple of pounds, you would not want to go back to where you were for a burger. Good luck, and enjoy ur diet, you will feel better, stronger, lighter, and overall healthier.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

First ask yourself if you really need to lose weight. Check your BMI using the calculator at this website: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
If you need to lose weight, follow a low fat, high fibre diet, and exercise for at least 20 minutes a day...even if it's just a brisk walk. Fad diets and/or pills rarely work, because as soon as you go back to your normal routine the weight goes back on. The more steadily you lose weight (aim for around 2lb per week) the more likely you are to keep it off. The key is to educate yourself in nutrition and healthy eating, and NOT to deny yourself the occasional treat. Good luck :)

Make small, gradual changes and over time, they will have an extremely powerful effect on you.
Check out http://www.obesitykills.iconfessional.com . The guy there is an ex-Marine, like myself, and he's putting together a program for himself in his blog that will get him back into shape. It will work for pretty much anyone and he's doing it all publically.
He's not selling anything, just sharing what he's doing as he does it. He's hoping for encouragement and motivation from his readers.
Hope that helps.

Walk. For at least an hour everyday at a good pace. Drink lots of water and every time you sit to eat a meal, make sure that at least 2/3 of your meal is protein. NO GRAZING!

eat less.
eat a wide range of foods (if you're going to eat less, at leat make less more interesting).
exercise more.
drink more water.
You can only eat as much food as the stomach lets you; the more you eat, the more it gets used to eating. Fortunately the opposite is true as well, which is why models say 'oh, I eat what I want' when all they want is a leaf of lettuce every third wednesday).
