Natural Pet Food and Wellness are both premium dog foods. Look on the label, if it starts with corn it's not a good dog food. It should start with meat of some kind.

I chose to feed my dog Authority dog food. It's not considered "premium" by pet food over-achievers, but neither is Eukanuba. What you do need to look out for in dog foods are allergens that may affect your dog. Corn is the number 1 culprit. Most dog foods have corn as one of the top 5 ingredients, usually number 1 or 2. The Eukanuba products that I've seen on my petstore shelves had corn listed as one of the top 2 ingredients, so I passed on Eukanuba. The Authority food that I chose does not have corn in it, as well as a couple of other common dog allergens.

Our cat eats Wellness brand, and I know they also make dog food. It's a very good brand - out vet recommended it. I've also heard Solid Gold and Innova are good. Personally, my opinion is any brand that can be bought at a supermarket/pet store super chain (like PetSmart, Petco) are not all that great (including Science Diet). We have to go to a speciality pet store - small, boutique-like - to get Wellness, and it is pricier than other foods, but I feel it's worth it.

There are several out there I use Wellness for my dog, there is Natural Balance, Nutro, Canidae, Solid Gold, Natures Recipe, you may also want to check out the ingredients in Petsmart Authority Brand as well, also see if you can find another product made by Merrick called Grammy's Pot Pie, it should be available in both dry and cans. Good Luck.

Iams, Science Diet and Eukanuba are all very bad dog foods, they all have a ton of chemicals.
I feed my dogs Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice which is a reall good food and is priced very well at only $31 for 44 pounds. It is corn and by-product free.
Here is a list of food foods:
All Nutro Natural Choice and Nutro Ultra products (Found at Petsmart).
Blue Buffalo.
Lassie Natural Way Lamb and Rice/Chicken and rice (found at Kroger, has no corn or By-products).
WellNess.
Diamond Lamb and Rice.
Premium Edge.
Inova.
Canidie.
I hope this helps. If you choose any of these foods your dog will with no doubt live a healthy life. Be sure to steer clear of foods with corn, Byproducts (By-products are things like feathers, beaks and feet), BHA, BHT or other chemicals. :-)
