Everything was O.K. and when I had put my friend's memory card into my camera's slot it turned off. Now I can't turn it on , and the icon "low battery" flashes.

Have you taken your friend's memory card out again?

If No! Then you should as it will not be formatted correctly for your camera and it takes a lot of battery power to do so. Then change batteries and it should start.

Any chance the friend's memory card is damaged, or installed backwards?

Charge up your batteries, and then put your old card back in. If the problem persists, then it is in your camera.

If the problem goes away, put your friend's card back in. It the problem comes back, it is your friend's card.

Someone mentioned the card's formatting. I don't think so. It may be the wrong TYPE of card, but digital memory cards don't require any formatting.

try changing the battery... or charging it if it is a rechargable one. it might not have needed that much battery until you had the memory card. also try to get the memory card out. it might not agree with it.

You need more battery power in order to use flash. Flash take extra power from your battery so it can run out fast.

The answer's in the question. The intruduction of your friend's memory card is incidental; the problem is that your batteries are flat!

With digi cameras you have to use a certain type of battery (rechargeable ones are best). You can't use ordinary ones.
