There is no side that is better than the other. Back in the day each side it's own meaning but to me it's irrelevant now. No one really looks and says "Hey! So and so has her left side pierced! She must be gay!" I was just using that as an example. I don't know what side meant what back then.
Piercing is so common now that no one really takes notice.

Don't listen to anybody. It doesn't matter which side. As a body piercer myself I'd say that out of all the girls cartilages I've pierced 50% got it on the left and 50% got it on the right.

It doesn't matter. Either side will do. I would suggest the ear you don't use to talk on the phone with, or the side you sleep on. It might be a little sore for that.

Well I'll be the odd one out and tel you I got mine in the right ear... Which I did. As of today I have 2 of them in the right cartilage now.

my cartlidge is pierced and it is on the left side.

I had the left done, but only because I did switchboard (telephone) work, and I wore my headset on my right ear. Get both sides done so there's no question of which is correct, and if someone says it's wrong on one side, then remove it...

I suggest you get it done on the side that you sleep the least on.
I pierced my right one. As one of the previous answers said, It doesn't mean anything any more.
It's your choice.

Does it really matter? Get it in the ear you prefer.
