I'm recommending you pick one color and your future hubby pick the other color. It really shouldnt' be up to strangers. Your first decision should be an agreement on how the wedding will be. Get him to be apart of it! MAKE HIM. no man should be released of their duties as a future husband.
My bro and his new wife agreed on two (seemingly) opposite colors but it turned out beautifully. She liked blue and he liked brown. it worked out and even though some SNOBS out there hated it, who cares??? it's your wedding. you can do what you like!
HAPPY DECISION MAKING!!

Think about how you want to use the colors. Bridesmaid dresses? Table Linens? Flowers?
Think of all white with lilac and yellow sashes. That way your bridal party can wear a style that suits them and highlight with a rich ribbon in another color. A spring wedding with bouquets of lilacs and tulips on the tables and carried by the attendants.
Forget matching the church because the carpet will fade into the background.
Make sure that you don't go too trendy (turquoise & orange) so that you don't look back and gasp in 20 years.

Congrats ! I think that the colors of blue/silver or lilac/silver seem more like a fall wedding. The other colors seem like spring. I guess it depends on alot of things.......kind of weather you want, what sort of a day it might be for pictures.......I will say one thing.....it may look different when placed on a person, but the blue/yellow color reminds me of kitchen colors.

if it's in spring: if outside the church looks nice, then you should have it outside with a gold and green or gold and tan-pink color scheme, they should be warm, bright, springy colors. if you want it inside, then either gold and pale yellow, or gold and white. anything that still has a warm springy feeling, but a little more subtle.
if it's in fall: unless you live in a very warm climate, you should have this wedding inside. maybe, gold and yellow, or yellow and red. something that is similar to the colors of the fall leaves. if you live in a climate where leaves don't change color for some reason, then silver and light blue(if you live in a warm climate) or silver and white. these are good color schemes, hope you like them, and good luck.

If you decide on spring, I would suggest a soft blue and silver. If you choose a blue around the color of a summer sky it flatters most complexions. A soft blue looks very romantic, and the silver will add a elegance.
For fall, I would choose a deep red. It complments the season very well, and will give your wedding a very elegant and refined look.

First ex silver only use that as decorative color. As for Spring wedding lilac is a lovely color. We used lilac, plum, and ivory for attire. These colors looked wonderful in the pictures. As for Fall Wedding I recommend a light shade of brown, taupe looks wonderful you can pair this color with autumn hues: bright oranges, yellows, and deep red.

Please do not pick your wedding colours based on the church carpeting or the stairs - that's too bizarre even that you mentioned them!
I like your ideas - all depends what you would want to do with the dresses, mostly, I guess. For my wedding I had four colours - lilac, pink, teal and light yellow - so decorating was great fun!

Silver & blue are great colors for a wedding. I also love lilacs, it is great for a spring wedding or summer. Lilac goes great with green too. Good luck to you.

a beautiful Burgundy dress always looks nice (and if you decide on this co lour by a bridesmaid dress for you to wear, they are a lot more stunning) and team this with cream. lilac and silver sound great to but be careful with your shade of lilac otherwise everything will look cold. good luck

I vote blue/silver. Some people say coordinate to the season and blue and silver are winter colors, but I say go what you like best! Def. use silver with whatever color you chose. Silver goes well with anything, my wedding colors are black, white, pink, and silver.
