It took mine about 8 months to fully heal - I've had it now for 4 years. Just keep soaking it in the salt water (they probably gave you some salt at the piercing shop). I also had a red bump next to the hole. If it's oozing that's a sign of bacteria. I went in and had the stud rebent - that helped too - seemed that the angle was a bit off and putting extra pressure on one side. And lastly, I actually had mine checked out by my dr to make sure my nose wasnt going to fall off - she confirmed piercings take a long time to heal b/c your body is forced to grow around a pole as opposed to through it like all other wounds.

well don't take it out unless it gets very serious, i hope this information helps.
Noses, like many cartilage piercings, can be notoriously long in healing. That type of tissue just does not get the good blood supply that softer tissues do. Piercings heal from the surface back towards the center of the piercing, growing a tunnel of new skin inside the hole to form a permanent piercing. If the surface is healed, the center of the piercing can still be an open wound, and this is often why piercings will go days or weeks and then react badly.
See if you can ease your care routine. Only use antibiotic ointments if you have an actual infection. Clean the piercing once in the morning and once at night with hot water and a very mild, natural soap. If the piercing seems to react to soap, try using just hot salt water. Allergy and skin medications can dry mucous membranes and irritate healing piercings so watch for a correlation between taking medications and flare ups. Try a bit of lotion around the piercing if the surface skin is really dried out.
The reactions you describe are common to the healing process of a lot of body piercings. Try not to sleep on your piercing too much. In the summer, take extra care of your healing piercing. Watch out as piercings that aren’t completely healed can be irritated by sweat, sunscreen, sunburn and chemicals in pools and hot tubs.
best wishes and good luck.....

I actually had an infection in my belly button piercing. I went to my piercer and they told me not to use tea tree oil, and believe me that was hard to accept because I use it for everything, but you most likely have an infection in your piercing because of the oils on your nose. You should clean it first with an antibacterial soap and see if any piercing shops around you have specific cleanser for that. My piercer has these q-tips filled with a holistic ointment and you snap the ends, and use it once and throw it away, its very sanitary, see if any piercing shops around you have those. They work like a charm. Also the if white stuff is coming out the infection, its not puss, its white blood cells, meaning that you either tore the hole or there is something inside the piercing. Also ask your piercer if they used an implant grade piece, implant grade is higher than surgical grade because that is what they use in hospitals when they actually put metal pieces and stuff inside your body, because your body wont reject it as easily. Good luck and look around for a reputable piercer if you have no luck with the one you are going to now.

On a similar note, I couldn't get my belly button to heal for the longest, and it eventually got a lump with puss in it. Once I started using Softsoap, it healed up great. It is very gentle.

I would take a cotton ball or Q-tip...put hydrogen peroxide on it and clean it...inside & out...then put neosporin on it....do this 3 times a time...you dont want to get this infected...it's in a bad area...

sounds like it could be cellulitus.....take the nose ring out and let it heal....that is really the only way to get rid of it....make sure you use alcohol on it and keep it clean and dry.....when it heals the lump should go away....

Yes, it is infected and if gets worse you will have to go to the doctor and have it lanced. This is as fun as it sounds. Just take the piercing out and LET IT HEAL!!
