Food tins are ribbed to allow the contents to expand when they are Pasteurised( as part of the canning process) so that the ends of the can do not "peak" ie blow out into shapeless domes, making the can useless as a food container.

I think most tinned or canned goods are ribbed to insure less slippage.

sooooooooo they all dont stick to the sides cause they are after all alot of beans in one tin you ever counted them lololol xx
