We have had three baby birds that their mother rejected! I am feeding them special food etc but i haven't been told when to take the lamp (for warmth) off them!! One died this morning and were thinking maybe its because they are too hot!!! They have just finished getting feathers!!! Please Help!!!!

i too have raised wild baby birds, get a fat syringe and cut off the tip so that baby food can be pushed into their open gullet (I also mashed some chicken feeds and made a gruel)...they may be able to drink from a shallow pan if they have feathers...also use the syringe to put a littlew water into them a few times a day...3-4 feedings a day worked for mine...also about the light, I didn't use one, just made them a nest in a warm part of the house with as much fresh air as possible. They can keep themselves warm as long as it's not too cold...also, some will die , you're doing the best you can...hold them and talk to them and they will feel like you are mommy....One bird flew back in the Spring and said "hi" to me once. When mione were at the stage of climbing around the nest, i was able to spoon feed them (skinny spoon)

I used to work at a wild life park and I had reared numerous clutches of eggs. We took the lamps off when they had feathers. Make sure you are hydrating them enough too, that could have also been the cause of the little ones death. Good luck! :)
