Jehovah witness (New world translation)?

Question

Why is it the most accurate bible?
If so, why dont other religions use it.(correct me if iam wrong)

Is there any reputable scholar endorsments and secondary ones?

Besides of restoring Jehovah name, why is there other changes in scripture, when reputable scholars Qoute its not a correct tranlation: For example, 1 john 1:3 through him all things were made NIV.
NWT; through him all [other] things were mad.
If you remove other it would mean that Jesus is GOD. Because GOD created everthing. But that would be wrong in Jw doctrine so it has be change.
Also John 1:1 which i know you know.

These are just some off my mind.

So out all the religions and scholars only one religion uses
the NWT.

In a respectful way, most of your doctrine is worthless with out the NWT.
I guess that is why they say it is the most accurate so you dont use another. Could this be a trap?

What the critics of Jehovah's Witnesses perhaps ignore is that the Witnesses re-discovered true Christianity within the pages of the bible many decades before they commissioned the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, which was not completed until the 1960's.

Jehovah's Witnesses attach no particular infallibility or inspiration to NWT; Witnesses actually use many different translations in their personal bible reading and research. As many householders are well-aware, Jehovah's Witnesses are happy to use any translation which an interested person may prefer, and in fact Jehovah's Witnesses themselves distribute other translations besides NWT.

Incidentally, there are about 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witnesses around the globe. By comparison there are over 130 million copies of NWT in print. Even if every Witness has four bibles, that still implies that 80% of these bibles are being used by non-Witnesses. The NWT easily stands on its own merits, and is actually recognized and appreciated by secular scholars of biblical Hebrew and Greek. Since the same manuscripts used by the NWT translators are still widely available for study, and since there are dozens of alternate translations for comparison, anyone who chooses to use NWT does so informedly.

When critics of Jehovah's Witnesses extend their criticism to the New World Translation, their blind hatred for this Christian religion is exposed. Since its publishing, secular experts of Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shakey tenets of their false worship.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

The rendering of Philippians 2:5-11 in the NWT is more accurate than any other translation that I've seen. Trinitarians either ignore, are ignorant, are unreasonable, or just space out at the fact that Philippians 2:6 can ONLY be interpreted in a non-Trinitarian manner. The Greek word used there is "harpazo." It and its various forms in the New Testament ONLY refer to something being seized, stolen, or plundered. It ONLY refers to taking something that originally didn't belong to you. Philippians 2:6 is saying that Jesus would not steal/seize something that wasn't already his: being equal to God. (See John 14:28. Jesus already admitted that he wasn't equal to God.) The NWT is more accurate in translating the Greek word "all/every" than any of the most popular Bible translations into English. The Greek word "all/every" has different nuances than the English words "all" or "every." Most translations just translate it "all/every" and leave the reader in the dark as far as the subtlety of the Greek is concerned. But the NWT differentiates between the different uses of the Greek word, and translates it as "all," "all sorts," "all other," etc. The "other" in the NWT at Philippians 2:9 is valid. If anyone comes forward and says that it's impossible for "other" to be found at Philippians 2:9, then that person is unfamiliar with even the basic rudiments of Koine Greek.

The NWT translation walks very dangerous ground by dishonestly adding the word Jehovah to the New Testament. YHWH never appears in even a single of the over 5000 ancient Greek manuscripts found, showing that it was not used by the New Testament writers. The NWT looses credibility by making this addition, showing its intention as a translation is to support its own doctrine rather than be an honest portrayal of Gods word.

The argument used to support this addition is that it was removed in the second century. Not only is this untrue, to say such undermines every other word within the bible. If God could not protect his own name, what else is wrong?

The NWT is very likely to be the least correct. I can't even call it a Bible. It is simply a book written by man.

It is correct to use Jehovah's name in the Hebrew scripture. It is NOT correct to use it in the Greek but the JWs took the liberty of putting it in.

There is a difference between religion and Relationship. The JWs practice a religion.

The awesome uncreated Creator wants us to be in a Relationship with Him and the only way we can do that is through Christ. The NWT does not tell the truth about Jesus Christ which makes it impossible for JWs to have a Relationship.

Please take a good look at Deuteronomy 18:20-22. You already know that the JWs have made several false prophecies and that should show you that what they teach is not even worthy of consideration.

You might be interested in looking at the Precise Parallel Bible which gives 8 translations of the New Testament. It has a chart which shows how each translation came about. It looks as though the New Amercan Bible has the most direct route from the Greek

I would have to ask what is consider a "Reputable Scholar"? Are they Christan? Are their Lives in complete accordance with Christ's teachings? Do they get paid for their work, and would it affect their earning power to contradict commonly accepted beliefs?

As for the Greek translation, the one thing you need to look as is why did the Apostle John spell god in Greek four different ways? Why did he not use the same spelling when referencing God the Father as he used for god the Word? Also, why did he use the same spelling for god the Word when he referenced Satan or men with the word god? people need to go buy their own interlinear translations at a bible book store.

It isn't the most accurate. Jehovah couldn't have been God's name, because the letter "J" has no Hebrew or Aramaic equievelant. A more accurate translation should have said "Yahweh", "Yahveh", or something along those lines.

I took some Greek classes in college and I discovered that the NWT is not an accurate translation of the Greek New Testament. It is designed to present their doctrine in the best light.

The most accurate is the NASB for literraly for meaning it is the NIV.

However in the JW Bible they say God created everything in Genesis then in John say in the beginning was the word and the word became God . SOme changed to a god. Well if it is not changed, then Jesus is God. If it is changed, then JW is a polytheistic religion.

thats a good question i always wondered why too? i thought that the NWT was the one that was changed and i know your not supposed to change the bible so i stopped reading that one and now i have the NIV, and the KJV
