I spend at least 70% of the time i SHOULD be doing homework chatting on MSN or AIM. Don't use Yahoo much though, only to let me know when i get a new email.

well this is just me but i chat with friends on yahoo all the time. its alot better than the phone b/c i can talk to diferent friends all at the same time even though sometimes to many ppl want to talk

I think it is an equal playing field now that they are both linked with Live messenger. I think it is equal. And yes they do chat a lot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or is that I chat a lot lol.
