Thats common, you need to consider that your McAfee is checking everything you do now. Keep in mind, antivirus software aint doin its job if it aint slowin you down! I dont use it for this reason! Antivirus software gives the user a false sense of security to begin with! I simply dont use it because I have learned purely by 15 years of mistakes on the net! P2P sites are the number one method of spreadin this crap today!

First of all I think you have an older computer and it makes quite a difference if its old.
Then,I agree with the other poster,Mcaffee and Norton sucks.
Aren't those from the same company,guess they do.
Get a different one.
Norton is always working in the background and eats precious % proc. time away.

Make sure you uninstall any other anti virus software before installing another. My wife's PC would take forever to start up or do anything.

That is purely normal. It depends on your system hardware and other programs you are running at the same time.

GO to AVAST.com Macafee sucks and so does Norton
and AVAST is free!!
