where can i find a detailed diagram of the mains power from my house to determine which substation it connects to?

if you are planning any ground works, you or contractor should have any relevant drawings showing services in that area. your supplier will send an engineer to locate and mark any cables. ask them for a detailed system diagram of all overhead and underground systems. he will have a national reference number, this states the service type to your home, the cable and feeder no from relevant sub station.

If you are in a village there is probably only one substation anyway, so your supply will go to the three phase supply in the street and then back to the sub. Or maybe you have overhead supply, same thing applies.

The sub station itself is on a ring main with others so you would have to guess which is the nearest to you.
You have a 50% chance of being right.
But what then?
If you want to change the transformer oil don't bother, they don't these days.

You would have to get that from the utility. I doubt they will share it. No good could come from it.
