Hey Everyone,
I like to wash my hair once every 2 days. I workout everyday and find that after I workout my hair is greasy on the top and dry on the ends. Should I be washing it again (which I heard is a bad thing to do everyday) so wash it with conditioner only?
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Your hair may not actually be greasy. It could be the sweat and salt on your scalp is coating the hair next to the skin.

If you want to continue washing your hair only every 2 days, you could try rinsing your hair on the off days with a warm rinse of water and lemon juice. That should make it feel clean when it dries, and it won't dry out the ends.

By the way, I wash my hair everyday, and I simply use a good shampoo and conditioner for my hair needs at the time. Hair changes with the seasons (just like your skin) so you need different formulas in the summer and in the winter. I also use a leave-in spray conditioner to protect my hair from the sun, wind, and the UV in the lights in my office. I have bleached my hair blond (my natural colour is dark brown) for 5 years and its in better condition now than it was 10 years ago.

You should just rinse hair with water and miss out shampoo and use lots of conditioner on the ends but not so much on the top. Then when yu have towel dried hair i would smooth a little bit of serum on the ends. Also you could buy a dry shampoo for the roots to freshen up your hair in between washes.

I have this problem all the time, unfortunately I end up washing after every workout session, my hair stylist says to wash it whenever it sweats. I guess you'll have to cut down on the workouts since you like to wash your hair every 2 days, work out every other day so that when you do work out your already due for a wash.

I wash my hair everyday. I have oily hair so i have too. Sometimes when i work out if i have to wash my hair twice in the same day i will only use shampoo or use a 2-1 combo

A lot depends on your hair type. I wash my hair everyday, but my hair gets greasy if I don't (I have fine straight hair), bad for it or not. Consider going to the library and getting a book about your hair type (straight, curly, etc.). My friend had hair problems, but after she read a book about her hair type she had had a lot less problems with it once she knew how to deal with it. Also, I personally like to take a shower after working out. Don't worry so much what you have heard is good or bad, just do what feels right to you (and your hair)!!!

Brush your hair after you work out, this will help to distribute your natural oils all over your hair. Also, you can brush body powder onto the roots of your hair, this will help to soak up the excess oil.

You workout everyday? Good for you!!!! I wish I had that stamina.
