The Old Testament was originally written mostly in Hebrew.

The New Testament was originally written in Greek.

The Third Person of the Holy Trinity, now commonly called in English "the Holy Spirit," is in Hebrew: רוח הקודש or Ruah haqodesh

And is in Greek: το Άγιο Πνεύμα

These Hebrew and Greek words have been translated into English as both the "Holy Ghost" and "Holy Spirit."

It was originally translated as "Holy Ghost" but later translations use a more spiritual "Holy Spirit."

The Holy Ghost is God and not what we think of a ghost.

With love in Christ.

The Holy Ghost is the Holy spirit. That's a different thing entirely to the 'ghosts' that some people believe in now, which are usally described as being dead humans who come back to haunt you or a certain place or something.

The Bible says that there is a gap between the living and the dead in Luke 16, therefore there cannot be any ghosts because a person either goes to hell or heaven. The gap is so big that no one dead on either side can communicate or be here on earth.

Matthew 12:32 - And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Pneuma means spirit, yes, but also wind or air.
Air is all around us, and also inside us.
That describes God's presence to the world in the spirit. It's a metaphor. It's also a divine reality.
