I'd rather like to replicate that relaxed, calm feeling everytime I get a cold and take some cold medication.

Well how about a warm shower/bath, or a nap... Those can give you relaxed feelings as well.. I don't think an ibuprofen will

I don't take pharmaceuticals.

You might try Graviola. It's an herbal supplement from the rainforest, and it's been used for centuries for it's calming properties. I take a few every day, and it's really helped to balance my moods.

With meds like Ibuprofen, your body will eventually build up a tolerance and you'll have to take more to get the same effect.

if you take it once a day you will build up an immunity to it and it will stop working, not to mention it tears up your stomach lining.
