No, but the veil is important to some women but I don't think it is to cover their beards.

Is it their way of keeping their hair on?

I have a white biker friends that are bald with beards,you really have this all wrong if you get out a little you will see that it is not only Muslims that are bald with beards.
If you changed your attitude you will fit in.
