God doesn't force people to believe what He teaches in the Bible. In the Bible Jesus tied fire and hell together. But it could be figurative. Still hell would be a place or a condition that a person receives God punishment. I think that's the best way to see it... Jim

The reason there are so many different religions is because of Satan. Satan knows we want to find God and be one with him again. To confuse mankind, Satan has come up with all kinds of religions. He knows we are going to search for God, and we want to serve God, and that is fine with Satan, as long as it is the wrong God, or religion.

Is there a Hell and what is it? Yes there is a Hell, but I wouldn't be so worried about going there. I would be more concerned about another place called, The Lake Of Fire.

In the Bible, the book of Revelation ch.20 verse 14 it says,"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

You might want to check this out for yourself, it's an eye opener. Read ch.20 through 22

I hope this helps, also if you don't have your name written in the book of life, you can. Just pray and ask God for forgiveness of your sins, and invite Jesus Christ into your heart. If you really mean it God will know. Talk to some real true Christians for more answers, those that believe Jesus Christ is the only way.

According to the Bible, hell is a burning place - it's just not burning yet. The Bible teaching is that when people die, they are completely dead - they don't go anywhere, they don't know anything. They don't live again until Jesus comes back.

According to the Bible, every person is judged, and those who choose not to belong to God will perish in hell. The fire is described as eternal or everlasting. Some people believe that means the fire will never go out, but again, the Bible doesn't support that view. It says Sodom and Gomorrah suffered that eternal fire, and they went out long ago. The eternal or everlasting fire only lasts as long as there is something to burn, then it goes out.

To know the truth of the matter, you have to be willing to listen to all of what the Bible says on the subject, not just the parts that fit with a currently accepted theory.

The Bible is accurate. There are many different religions because God's way is difficult, and only a few people trust Him enough to follow Him in the way He wants us to. Being a CHristian is not easy, or even attractive to most.

Hell is a burning place. It is also a place separated from God. Heaven isn't a specific place, it just happens to be any place God touched His foot. New Jersey could be Heaven, if God lived there. Hell is simply where God is not.

And yes, hell is certainly here on earth to. It depends on the individual. Heaven and hell live within us. You have the choice to live in one or the other. Most prefer hell, for one reason or another. Not everyone would enjoy Heaven either. Put Hitler in Heaven, and within minutes he would be unhappy, and trying to kill and take over. God doesn't force anyone to go to the one or the other. But to get to Heaven, we have to get their by His rules, and who wants to do that? We are proud, and liek to think we deserve Heaven no matter what we've done, or no matter who we are. It doesn't work that way.

Religion is the key word here. There are different religions, but only one God. Each "religion" believes differently. The bible holds all the answers you will need. If it isn't in the bible, then it isn't. The bible is the same and God is the same no matter what.

I know things can get really confusing if you get to listening to several different people. So, DON'T. Get into the bible and figure it out for yourself. It is an awesome book, and has every answer to every question you have ever had.

Good luck to you. If you need anymore help please let me know. God bless you, and open the eyes of your understanding regarding his Word.

Well, KA, it is really simple. When one takes just a part of a text, and applies 'reason' to it, then there is no telling what one will come up with as an explanation. Although, IF, one studies the Bible, one will quickly and easily see that 'Hell' is the grave, and not some mythical/pagan belief that was handed down to us as 'a tradition of our fathers.' Hell is the final and total destruction of ALL of the wicked, both human and angelic, from which there is not even the remotest chance of resurrection. So you see, Hell is not so much a place as it is an event.
Do you see how understanding comes with studying, instead of depending upon what the preacher/priest defines as 'excepted' dogma/truth?

Every religion is a different interpretation of the Bible. Some take it literally, some seek out metaphors.

There is no "supposed to" in beliefs. It is something your heart tells you it's true.

I don't believe in hell as a place. But we all make our own lives, so it is possible, by separating yourself from God (i.e. through stealing, cheating, lying or killing or whatever), that you will live in hell....right here on Earth.
I believe in Karma, so if I'm going to steal, someone will return the "favor", hence my life may feel like hell.

The Bible isn't accurate, and it has conflicting descriptions of hell.

In the OT, hell is simply the grave. In the NT, it has been associated with Gehenna (a refuse dump outside Jerusalem), Hades (the greek underworld), Tartarus (the deepest pit of the greek underworld), anihhilation, and even though Revelation says hell will be thrown into the lake of fire, for some reason a lot of Christians associate the lake of fire with hell too.

The Bible simply is a muddled mess, and that's why there are as many differing Christian beliefs as there are Christians.

If you were going to deceive someone, how would you do it?

Let say God has a beautiful mansion that he wants to give you.
He wants some kind of commitment for it, though. Now Satan wants to keep you from taking that mansion. He is not going to offer you a shack...you wouldn't take it. He offers you a mansion that looks the same in everyway, but it is not the same quality in fact it will collapse on you after some time. You can have it with no commitment, in fact, he will throw in some fun surprises.

That is almost like other religions, they come close to offering what God offers...but, cannot come through in the end. They are a Trojan Horse...

I've got one more to add to your list, haha. Hell is mankinds' grave. How do i prove this? The Bible uses 2 other words for hell, sheol in Hebrew and hades in Greek. The righteous man Job prayed to go to Sheol to end his suffering. Hades is to give up the dead in it before it's thrown in the Lake of Fire. So i have no fear of Hell, just of the Gehenna that Jesus mentioned, which some translations have intertwined together to mean the same thing.
