liability! So your mom or some one should be there unless its in your back yard then who should care? . . . I'm not sure if other kids mom would want to pay you since so your so young and all but if you can prove to the parents that you know what your doing then I think it would work out and maybe you could make more then $5 a month you have my vote! now i just need kids lol

Its well worth looking in to. However its a lot more complicated then just that. First, don't try to do it in your living room, nobody will come and if they do and someone breaks their leg your parents may be living in the street.
There is liability insurance, and general liability to think about. If they drop off their kid, you are taking responsibility for them until they return.
I would sure be looking into either your cities recreation department or local dance studios. Ask about teaching a class. A few local rec. classes I have been involved with pay their teachers a whole lot more than $5/kid. A dance studio may want you to teach one of their classes for a while before renting you the space to do your own class.
Its a good idea, and well worth looking into. You have until summer to get the ideas finalized, so your time table is pretty good too. Good Luck!

no. I would not trust a 12 or 13 y old to be responsible enough to care for my child alone. As a parents helper, of course, but what about if your daughter starts choking.. What is she going to do? call 911? shell be dead before they get there.. does she have the strength to actually do a heimlich on the child ( or the knowledge of how..) or if her finger gets stuck on the doorway and gets snapped off ( sure unlikely but has happened to a friend of mine. The kids finger came off clean ) would she have the level head of collecting the finger, putting it in proper container and applying preassure while calling 911.. anyways, the list goes on and on. i dont trust anyone under 16 alone with my kids ( 3,5,8 y old) and even though I think thats is very young too, its better than 12 ( and I use my niece who is now 16)

No.
Even though many youngsters do it, Dance is still a sport. A very pyhiscal sport at that. You need to make sure you are properly trained in order to properly train other people. If you don't have the proper training, some one could get seriously hurt. Kids are also still growing and you could do perment damage to ligiments and bones.
Especially do not do this if it is not through an actual dance school. I have seen 12+ year old kids helping teach classes at dance schools, but they are watched by trained adult professionals.
No one should teach anything unless they themselves are trained in it and trained to teach it.

It depends on what kind of quality of teaching you want. If you want babysitters who have fun dancing with your daughter and showing fun moves then yes. With teenagers this is all you will get and $5.00 an hour is a great babysitting rate!
If you really want your daughter to have some quality dance instruction then seek out a quality dance studio with teachers who have some sort of training, either at a college level or DMA or have had the years of experience to back them up.

Yes...I taught dance at a studio starting when I was 13 and the teacher and the parents trusted me to do that. It was a great way to make money and I loved doing it. I would allow the parents to stick around though. It is similiar to babysitting, but since there is physical activity, there might be a liabilty.

maybe it should be $10 a month and you will need to go get a business license at your city hall and figure out who gets what kids and those are the kids you get paid for so you can do your taxes. you may need to set class sizes like you do 6 kids at a time and the classs is half an hour once a week and you do say 15 classes 3 a day monday through friday. and ther others can set there own class size for one might only want 4 kids and the other may want 8 kids and so on.
remember once you comite you do not cancle so you can go out with friends

I think parents would be okay with it especially if they could watch. It kinda depends on the age group of the children and the ability you have to teach them and keep them under control.

Sure, great idea, just make certain there are some parents around at all times.
Five dollars a month is not very much; I would raise the fee.

I dunno. I mean excersize never hurt anyone no matter who's leading the group. If I were you though, and wanted to be taken seriously RAISE YOUR PRICE. People know that they get what they pay for and honestly they'd be more willing to put their kid in a class that's more expensive becasue it's probably going to be respectable ya know. GOOD LUCK and go for what YOU wanna do.
