Yes just put the windows xp pro disk into your computer and start the process. Choose (upgrade) when you are ask (new) or an
(upgrade). This will be right after you begin so don't overlook it.
Later when you are asked if you want to keep your files choose that option. Your files will be stored in your drive so you can pull them out after the installation is over. Some files may not transfer over but most will. Just in case you might want to run a back up of what you for sure do not want to lose. If you have a burner like a DVD-RW you will be able to burn more files at one time. If you just have a CD-RW you will be limited to 700 megabytes. You might have to burn several copies.
You may still have to have Cd's from installed programs that you added since you got your computer. If not try to remember where you downloaded them and copy them down. You may have to reinstall some of those programs.
Best of Luck!

Yes, but it's basically the same, just XP Pro has a 2 or 3 other features, (you can get most of them from Service Pack 2), so yes, but I wouldn't advise it. It's not worth it.
