About 3 years ago, I used to have really soft, shiny, straight, and silky hair that didnt need any hair treatment, and I could just walk out of the shower and still end up with shiny frizz-less hair. Just recently, I have noticed that the outer layer of my hair is really frizzy when it starts to dry from the shower. The hair on that part is very rough and it is not straight. However, the hair inside, remains the same and feels silky smooth to the touch. How did this happen and what can I do to fix it? Please help.

Sounds like you have cuticle damage. The best thing for cuticle damage it to use an acidifying conditioner. Try Nexxus Phyto Organics Nectaress conditioner. Also, once a week use a protein reconstructor to replace any protein in the hair. I recommend Nexxus Phyto Organics Enphuse Conditioner. In about 1-2 weeks you should see a big difference!!! Good luck.

If you have being using hair-drying/curling tongs/straigtning irons a lot they can damage your hair.If you have coloured you hair that can mess it up too.If you over brush your hair it can cause frizz and if you are washing your hair too often that causes frizz too. I would start by using an intensive hair mask when you wash your hair and smoothing serum on the hair when it is damp or dry.

Sadly, there are a ton of chemicals in the atmosphere and they like to attach themselves to our hair. In your case, mainly to the outside hair. The best way to combat this is with an all natural product; one without chemicals that will hurt your hair more. Try the Revitalizing Shampoo from ProSante, as well as their other hair-healing products. http://www.shaklee.net/wealth-via-health/product/31690

Could be from exposure to the sun, it's not just bad for your skin. I would try a vitamin E oil treatment, or just any oil treatment in general. And try a shine spray after styling to give it the look you miss.
