Katy, you sound like a young person. If you are younger than 13, then you need to talk to your parents about appropriate behaviour when dating. Please do not follow the advice of the person on this site who suggests that it is ok to have sex on the first date when you are 13.
Holding hands is a nice way to show affection for someone you care about and as for the timing, it is something that will come quite naturally when you have a boyfriend.
