Like I said it's a debate, and FYI white people, a White person asked the question in our debate class, not a black person... then it was discussed and brought up that on all the news progams, interviews, articles, and certain rumored celebrities... it was brought out that all these people have been white.... and the comment about Ethopia was NOT funny.... those people dont choose NOT to eat....

Yes of course anorexia can affect black people. Anorexia is a mental illness and can strike anyone with a predisposition to it. It is totally unrelated to race.
I believe the reason you may not hear as many black women having anoreixa is because skinny is not often perceived as attractive in the black community, where as in the white community it is.
Obviously anorexia isn't really about weight/size at all, but about control issues, however usually is triggered off by negative feelings about body image and pressures to be thin, which is something very prevalent in the white and asian community, but not so much in the black community. HTH.

Of course there are Black anorexics. And there are Black bulemics. Color has nothing to do with the mental state into which some young women (and a very few young men) get themselves by creating a false body image for themselves.

I think so, yes. Anorexia is a fear of being fat and severly restricting onnes calories intake. Anorexia is a disease and mental disorder, Color and ethnicity do not play a role in this. Now whether a lower percentage of black ( I am assuming you are reffering to Africans who live in America or Europe, not peaople who actually live in Africa or some where else) tend to get this disease, I am not sure, but I dont think that it is so.

I would absolutely think so. What does anorexia have to do with color? Black, white, yellow, or green. We are all the same emotionally. Anorexia is a pshycological condition about how you feel about yourself. Not really what color you are. Unless, said anorexics phycological condition is because of color?

Anorexia has nothing to do with skin color, it is a disease. A person has a body image of themself they can not accept or do not like.
This question would be like me asking if whites use crack....

I have never seen one, it is most likely because African Americans and latinos prefer to look more "healthy", as you should.

This disease can come about for anyone. It is a psychological problem that has nothing to do with race.
