On MMA Weekly they rate the Top 10 Fighters in each weight class across all MMA sports, and since Fedor Emelianenko is the #1 Heavyweight I think it would be safe to say that he is the best MMA fighter in the world. Although Mirko Cro Cop just won the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix, he might be a close second. PRIDE is trying to put that fight together for New Years Day, but it's not official yet.

...and yes, Fedor would kill ANYBODY in UFC, IFL or the WFA.

I have to go with Georges St. Pierre for my opinion. But I would have to say, anyone willig to go out train hard and take a challenge or challenge anyone and still come back if they loose.
Ok to everyone who says one or all the of the UFC belt holders or Pride fighters are better than UFC fighters. Remember most of the Pride fighters have never fought a UFC fighter or they were at one point a UFC fighter who couldn't cut it so they went to Pride. Fedor is a good fighter but I want to see him fight Tim Silvia, Andre Arlovski or Jeff Monson first. And as for Wanderlei Silva. the guy got his *** handed to him in his last fight and he hasn't really beaten anyone that great. Anderson Silva come on he's good but again stop basing your answers on who is popular at the time. Fighting especialy in MMA comps can go any way. The best fighters are those who make a successful carreer out of it. Like Shamrock, Ortiz, Hughs etc... Not a guy who comes in wins a few fights and gets popular for a while. 2 years ago everyone thought Franklin was the **** so now because Silva beat him Silvas the ****? I can see teen agers following trends but not grown adults. Hey Canada didn't win the gold metal in hockey at the last olympics, but we're still the best hockey players in the world.
Remember Pride allows knees to the head on a ground opponent and other things that are illegal in UFC and alot of other competitions. So next time you watch UFC look how many times a fighter could have a chance to do it and see how easily the guy who lost could have won.

Fedor Emelianenko is the most dominant heavyweight in MMA today because of his incredible strength, amazing grappling skills, and precision striking. His record is 25-1-0 and he avenged his only loss to Tsuyoshi Kohsaka in April 2005.

Top in each weight class:

Heavyweight (205+): Fedor Emelianenko
Light Heavy (205): Chuck Liddell
Middleweight (185): Dan Henderson
Welterweight (170): Matt Hughes
Lightweight (160): Takanori Gomi

Fedor plain and simple. He is the champion for Pride and he is bad a s s. I don't think there is anyone out there that could take him right now. Also Cro Cop is very good too.
