OK. I know I want purple or violet as one of my wedding colors. Normally I pair purple and green, but I don't think it looks right for a wedding. I don't know what other color(s) would look right with purple or violet for my wedding. Please help me. I'm going insane, and in turn I'm driving my fiance crazy as a bat.

Darker Purple and Silver is very pretty.

Anything that will contrast and is neutral will go well (cream, champagne, gold, silver, etc)

If you want to do green choose something light like Peridot, or Sage.

Go for purple, violet, and lavender and then have your favorite shade of green and then white to go with the trimmings. It could go like this:

Maid of Honor - Purple or Violet
Bridesmaids - Lavender and Purple
Groomsmen and Bestman - Purple or Violet vest with a black tuxedo.
Flower girl - Lavender ( You could add green and white as beadings on her dress)
Ring Bearer - Green vest
Flowers/decors - Purple, Violet, Lavender, Green, and White

To try and check how these colors go together, do color expressions. Go to the internet and copy and paste some photos from wedding websites to your email. Look for fashion models wearing the colors that you picked. You'd see how they go together.

Start from there and hope that helps. Good luck and congratulations!

Pair purple and violet (or lilac) together. Those colors look good together with white and accented with silver. I have to disagree with you on the violet and green. Violet (lilac) and a sage green are beautiful together. Check out link below. Let us know which one you chose.

Hi viva bamm, Well, " Congratulations" on your upcoming wedding! I've been catering for 8 1/2 years now, and have seen it all...LOL! I'm assuming your wearing a traditional "white" gown, I wish I knew how many in your wedding party? Anyway, I would go with a "shade" of violet, if your wedding is in the Spring. And a "rich" deep puprle if your wedding is in the Winter. The complimentary/accent color[s] I would use in the Spring would be a "forest green" IE; ribbons in their hair, cascading from their bouquets etc. And a "hint" of pastel "canteloupe" within their bouquets. They have beautiful "hybrid" roses in this color scheme. If your having a Winter wedding, my complimentary/accent color would be a "deep burgundy/cranberry red". With a darker pallette (IMO) you would only need the two colors. A third one would be "washed-out or competing" with itself. As far as the flowers, some "Rubirum Lillies" or Red Roses with some Batchelor Buttons, Freesia, Sweet-peas etc...would be beautiful too! Good Luck to you and your fiancee'. XOXO Moonpie

You can use a pale purple-lilac maybe and a really summer green-pastels. I would look fine. You can always pair white with purple or a different shade of purple.

I think all different shades of purple would be amazing, with just a tiny touch of magenta-ish purple (maybe in the flowers). I've never been into black bridesmaid dresses, but recently, I've seen a few weddings where the bridesmaid dresses are black with a coordinating-to-the-wedding bow around the waist - very classy.

Blue tends to coordinate really well with purple. You need to pick your purple first before you can pick your coordinating color. Purples can be reddish or bluish depending on which end of the purple spectrum they come from. That's a huge determining factor in choosing your coordinating color.

a rich dark purple with bright orange accents- I made bridesmaids dresses like this - looked FANTASTIC
the outifts were purple with orange stylised hearts embroidered near the hem & with orange day lilies in the bouquets
even a bright yellow would look good

Go to a fabric or craft shop & look at ribbons/fabric to see how different colours combine or get paint colour charts from a hardware
