You wouldn't happen to be the young lady anyways would you? j/k! if you want a quick fix take instant coffee grains and add about 1/2 teaspoon to your shampoo. Let it stay in for about 5 min. When you wash it out it should remove a bit of the purple hue!

I work for a hair colour technical support help line. The only way to remove it would be to use bleach. The best thing to do would be to use white powdered bleach and distilled warm water. Apply it to the purple parts and rinse out when the purple is gone from the hair.
Just for future reference, her hair turned purple because she has hair damage. Purple or muddy shades are a sign of protein loss in the hair.

Hehe, sounds like something I would do.
Just wash it in some non-color protectant shampoo and wait for it to come out. Purple hair sounds cool if it's like just a hue and not Barney purple, though...

Wash the hair in dish soap and if that doesn't lighten it up then use washing powder and this should lighten it the only way to truly fix it is dye it again.
I know she will not make that mistake again.

Did she try to use blonde or burgandy? There is no doubt that you are going to have to color it again. Or buy henna color it will turn it really red. It's not a dye but caution you CANNOT color over it and it Will be red. You can buy a stripper too. But that will kill her hair. And you will probably have to get a really good conditioner, or a hot oil treatment. Good luck

donot usd bleach and if she trys and wash it out it might fade to a really bad color her best option is to go and buy a dark brown hair dye and dye over top of it.Good Luck

You can stip some of the color out using a clarifying shampoo like Beyond Zone Strip Search that you can buy at Sally Beauty Supply.
Put it in your dry hair..let it set awhile and shampoo out. You can repeat as often as you like.
Good luck with your hair.

wash hair 10-15 times in a shampoo that DOES NOT protect dyed hair. it may make her hair a little frizzy but the shampoos that dont protect it destroy it and make it fade
