It is very difficult to understand what they are saying with their strong accent and weak English skills when I place an order at a drive thru. It is annoying and poor service where I won't even go back to that place due to aggravation over not being able to understand what they say. Let them work anywhere but the drive thru order taker position. Do you get this same problem?

Because fast food is an extremely price driven industry, and they need to keep costs down whereever possible. Illegals work for less than the rest of us, and they are probably more loyal. Of course, the negative aspect is that it is hard to understand when placing your order and too often they get your order wrong.

I would like to see just one fast food restaurant in an area of fierce competition, hire only people who speak the english language well, raise prices to pay them, and then put a big banner in front saying something like "Your order taken in English, by a native English speaker, who will get your order right the first time," and see what happens to their business.

By the way, going inside is even worse. They generally put their best English speakers on drive-thru. Said ain't it.

No. And in simple terms as a area be conscious, notwithstanding if it have been, she might have lots of argumentation on the case in that it took quarter-hour basically for the line to head.. That perfect there is sufficient to easily get the situation in hassle..i'm particular they have a "assure" of a few variety or policies asserting that your meals would be waiting and on your palms in a undeniable volume of time. ..Which they for sure did no longer persist with. yet what's this eating place that serves genuine kitchen cooked meals with a 10 minute wait? Sounds sturdy to me! :)

I have only met a few like this. Most have spoken English in my experience. I only worry about the rude people at restaurants and they can be any color. Cut your fast food workers some slack, most people who go through aren't very nice to them. I should know, I used to do that for a living.

Yes, I have this problem all the time it's annoying.I have nothing against them, but I do think they need to speak good English when dealing with the public.Where I live they get paid the same as a U.S.Citizen would.By the way you know their illegal if they can't speak english,in order to get citizenship, you have to know how to speak English.

I haven't noticed that, however.... the American people who work at fast food restaraunts seem to have poor English speaking skills as well.

Yes. It's the same reason all help desk technicians are over in India and you can't understand them either. Companies forfeit good service for cheap help.

OOOhh! My boyfriend yelled at the Carls Jr. people one day cause this lady just had too thick an accent! The woman he complained to tried to say it was the mic. We were like "Ummm....No, it's her. Can you just use someone else on the mic?" and the lady got all offended! Dang man, it's not my fault, ya know?

If you know some illegals are working for these places, then turn the employers in to the Immigration authorities.

That's your duty as a law-abiding citizen.
