It has been recommended I try Spirit Essence holistic remedies flower essence for my kitten.

I'm thinking about purchasing some.

Has anyone tried it? Or have you tried any other holistic remedies for a scared kitten.

I work for a holistic veterinary clinic. We sell Rescue Remedy quite frequently for cats. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Try some for yourself and see what it does for you. What effect does it have on you? If you have a scared kitty, try some remedy yourself and see if it calms you before you confront your kitty. Often people look for a remedy for a behavioral solution and disregard what is causing the problem. The remedy may help, but overall it is the attention, love and time you spend helping your cat with the problem. Many pet owners seek a solution in remedies instead of spending more time with the animal and learning what is going on with it--i.e. a "quick fix". Sometimes a scared kitty can be played with and brought out of a state of fear. Sometimes it requires changing your own energy to a really quiet state so that the cat does not feel threatened. A little treat or food is often comforting. Find out what is causing you cat's fear. There are many ways to help with fear. Sometimes it's just a matter of time and adjustment. Sometimes they withdraw so that they can stand back and learn their environment better. If you decide to use a remedy, be sure to back it up with a lot of love and attention to help in the long-term. Best of all, don't give up on loving your little purrball... love always seems to help.

I may have been the one who suggested that and I can't reach you by email or anything to ask.

Rescue Remedy should be in every household with animals in case of an emergency. It is calming and also covers shock, trauma and fears. I am sure the "Scaredy Cat" remedy made by Dr. Jean Hovfe has essences more pertinent to a kitten's shyness and timidity.

I just brought a new cat into my home last Thursday. I have five adult cats who have lived without a sixth cat for three years now.
I used Dr. Hovfe's 'New Begininings" and put it on all my cats' fur between their ears all this week. Things have gone very smoothly with a minimum of hissing (one female cat is still being a b***h). Most people will tell you this kind of integration of a new adult cat would take a few weeks if not a month. So I do think it has helped things along here.

I think the essence approach is always worth a try. It is inexpensive, easy to administer, cannot possible harm a cat and many of them have helped my cats at various times with particular problems.

I have used Bach's Rescue Remedy on my cat so that I can trim his nails. Helped a lot. He used to hiss, growl and struggle to get away. Now he will remain still and not vocalize. He doesn't love it, but he tolerates it.
