Sounds like you need to pre-lighten your roots first. The colour you're using doesnt contain any bleaching agents by the sound of it and isnt strong enough to cover the dark roots. xx

How soon after dying are you washing and how often? I have always been told that you need to let your hair go for washing until the 3rd day after dying for the color not to come back out or lighten. I've found in personal experience for that to be true as well, if I don't like a color I will wash like 10 times each day for 2 days and it will almost all come out. Also, are you using a different brand of shampoo? If so, maybe the chemical structure of that shampoo reacts differently to the dye and breaks it down easier.

You need to check the products you are using like shampoo and conditioners. Some are harder on the hair than others. You should be using a good color shampoo. (Not from Walmart either) Make sure u always use conditioner that helps seal the cuticle of the hair down which helps locks the color in. Make sure your not using well water. Its bad on hair especially blonde. It can discolor blonde hair. I hope this helps!

Loreal Feria has a great blonde dye. Mine lasts about 3 months. But be careful, make sure you condition you very well. I wash my hair every other day, but condition every day so the color lasts longer. Also there are shampoos that are especially made for colored hair.

have you tried getting a bleaching kid, stripping your hair, then do the usual blonde colour?
your lucky, years of blonde dye on mine made my hair weak, so after i had my baby i lost it all at each side of my head, it grew back after 6 months, but i still go blonde!

Have you tried making the best of your natural colour, you could save a fortune. Sometimes it is the cut that counts.
