yes it sounds like she is pregnant, dogs do have some symtoms as a humans they have morning sickness and tend to not eat as much as they use too, you need to take her to the vet and they can give her a pregnancie test and she will need to taken to the vet to make sure there will be no problems when she whelps the pups and if she is pregnant then make sure you take her in right after she has delivered the pups to make sure she is doing ok and that the pups are healthly

In week one they are not yet ready for mating where fertilization will take place. This only happens around day 11- 14 and any time up to the end of the month. If you are not wanting to breed your dog, I suggest you get a trusted family member to have the male for the next 3 weeks, so that he is away from her. The males will follow the female and keep trying until she accepts, around day 11 -14. However males and females have been known to fight especially when the female feels very harrassed. The general idea is that the male will tie with the female and this is when she gets pregnant. If this has not happened, then she won't be pregnant. If they have tied, then this will be day one of the 63 days you need to count to get her expected delivery date. 6 years old is too old for breeding. This is your chance to avoid complications. While the male is at a family members get him neutred and he can rest there for the next 3 weeks while she completes her season without being breed. 6 is the equivalent of an old lady getting pregnant.

RE:
How can I tell if my shih-tzu dog is pregnant?
She is a very small dog and has a lot of hair so it's kind of hard to tell. She also was chubby when we got her a couple of months ago from another family that didn't want her. We had already had a male puppy that we got last christmas and it's impossible to seperate them we're in...

Mayde she is hurting if she is pregnant so she doesn't fell hungry if puppies are pushing on her stomach, pet her it might relax her. You answered your own question eveything you have said is a sign of a pregnant animal. Well a week before she has the puppies her nippels will start to fill up with milk , look for that. also weigh her now then weigh her again in a week or so. Be careful she is a small dog and might have dead puppies or you mite have a dead dog, the puppies mite be to much on her.

Dogs living in the same house can and need to be separated if you have a female in heat. Better yet health wise for both dogs, they need to be spayed and neutered.
This dog should be taken to the vet for a check-up. While there, the vet can educate you on how to look after a pregnant dog, help her through whelping and look after a litter of puppies. It's time to educate yourself now before doing damage to your dog and/or her puppies.

Take her to a vet pronto! even if shes not pregnant, she needs some kind of medical care for her symtoms. Please don't let your little dog suffer. She could be sick from something else. Also dogs don't normaly get morning sickness

Yes, she sounds like she may be pregnant...
you may not be able to keep them apart, but you can spay and neuter to prevent puppies. You should do them both, but atleast do one of them. spaying/neutering adds years to a dogs life, and can prevent certain cancers.

Well-get them spayed and neutered first thing. Secondly, you can keep them in separate rooms or crates-thirdly--whether she is or isn't pregnant, she needs to see a vet.
