Hon, I answered your last question - while I appreciate you are trying to do it all right, you probably need to read about kittens in general. Rice should be fine, also boiled or baked plain white fish, bones removed is OK for small kits, just cut up well. Small amount of soft scrambled egg is OK - but he will grow out of that, probably. Small (8 -12 week old) kits need 4 small meals a day, gradually cutting down to 2 large ones. A kittens stomach is only the size of a walnut!
Don't forget - no going outside until fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered, if you care about your kitty! then you should avoid all problems later on. Just phone your vet, who will book him/her in and probably give all the needles whilst asleep under the anaesthetic

For a eight week year old cat I don't even think you should be giving him Whiskas (dried Food) I think you should be giving him wet food like 9 lives because it's not good for you to give a kitten dried food. No to deal with the white rice don't ever give a cat food you can eat because than it can either choke or died believe me I've been through it before!!?? Toodles

Kittens like to try varied food types, so just because he likes it, it doesn't follow that you have to feed him it. While I don't think the rice will do him any harm, manufactured cat food is designed to provide all the vitamins and nutrients a cat needs. You get food specifically designed for kittens so if he's only 8 weeks you should give him that as opposed to adult cat food. If you want to give him a little treat, buy a tin of tuna in sunflower oil. Drain off the oil and mash the tuna into a paste. Put a little in his bowl and watch him go crazy. Sardines should also go down well. Don't overfeed him and make sure he's always got fresh water to drink.

Rice is fine for cats, but always add catmeat as cats are not vegetarian. He will also need a lot more than half a teaspoon of each for meal. Dried catfood should not be given to cats under 6 months as they can easily choke. I suggest you take your kitten to a vet and ask him/her all the questions you have been asking us, and also that you buy a book on rearing kittens.

Hi all animal feeds are made to give them a balanced diet & by adding rice you will be cutting down on the proteins & upset the balance of what as been made for your cat...unless it says that it is to be mixed with other things like some canned dog foods then you should follow the instructions given on the can...
Kittens need to have a balanced diet to enable them to grow properly & these specially made kitten food are made with kittens in mind...always follow the recommendations given by manafacturer...Regards Jake

wont hurt it, BUT!!! watch the rice intake, it swells more still in the belly and can cause a big problem! I'd probably reduce the rice a bit more, a tea-spoon isn't a lot, but like I said, it'll still swell more in the belly

Don't give him dry white rice. It will swell up in his little belly and make him sick or worse. Try cat treats or something instead.
