I have 2 golden retriever/ lab mix puppys that are 11 weeks old. Is 45 degrees Fahrenheit too cold for us to leave them outside for couple of hours? What is there limit? Also what is the limit for an adult golden/ lab mix? Thanks!

Its a high of 74 tomorrow, my wife and I wanted to go to my little bros soccer game and to run some errands meaning we would have to leave at 7am when it is 45 degrees; but, it should warm up from there and we would leave blankets for them. Or if that is just too cold we will not go at all, we wouldn't want to hurt our puppies. :)

Call your local animal contol, every state has laws, some differ some state to state, on how cold is too cold, and how hot is too hot for dogs.

I wouldn't leave pups out for a few hours in 45 degree weather, puppies have a harder time controling their body temp. Why would you leave outside for a few hours anyway?

here is my advise,,, yes it is ok for a puppy of that breed to be left out side for a coupl of hours a day cause then they will start to grow a winter coat and then after a couple of weeks of letting them stay out for just a couple of hours then if you are wanting them to be out side dogs then they sould a winter coat by then but if it gets really cold, lower then the 20's then you will want to bring them in untill it warms up usally during the night is best to keep them in side cause that is when it is colder,,, but if it does get down to below freezing then you will want to keep an close check on there water bowls to make sure they are not frozen, I hope this helps

A puppy must be kept warm at all times. TRy to avoid cold untill about 3 months old when they begin to get their shots. IF you have to keep them out side try a gasoline free garage or a landry room. anywhere that has tile for easy mess clean up. Warm Warm warm.

45 could be fine could be too cold. Just keep an eye on them if their out and about moving around, playing, etc. theyre fine. Usually theyll come to the door if theyre cold or just sit there and look miserable. You can tell from their demeanor
