I know this would be an absolute no no to a person actively practising Bible based Christianity. I'm interested in what you would make of it as a believer in God in general, Hindu, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, or even an agnostic. Do you think that a person can be close to God in any way, and use an avatar's name in vain?

I am questioning a current spiritual leader...obviously not a Christian, based on this. So, I'm really interested in the input of serious spiritual seekers, and what would be a sign that a leader is not acting or speaking in accord with their own teaching. In short, is this a reason to find a new teacher?

regardless of the actual religion, it is disrespectful to those that believe such things.
However some might say that to be honest well "they" (the people who hold this terminology as scripture) shouldn't be so dag gamm petty.
But who are we to speculate on anothers opinion.
That my friend is a (HEAVY DUTY) right, I think you might call it freedom of expression?

Anyway answering this question coz wanted to mail you to say.

A bible believing christian would probably not use Jesus' name in that way, and by anyone else who doesn't believe in Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the World, I would be offended that they would disrespect Christians that way.

Everyone is always toting an atmosphere of tolerance - but its really tolerance to everyone but christians. Apparently we are the only people who don't deserve the same respect everyone else accuses us of not showing them.

And as a christian, I am actually getting a little tired of it all. You can all believe whatever you want. However, in the end you will all stand before the throne of God and be held accountable. You don't have to believe in it to make it true, and you'll all find out soon enough.

Arabic speaking Christians and Jews use the be conscious Allah to communicate over with God. In Aramaic the language Christian students believe Jesus spoke the be conscious for God is Allah. So Jesus did not use Allah's call in ineffective. surely he prostrated down and worshipped Allah. His relations worshipped Allah too. So did the early "christians" - non of them worshipped Jesus inclusive of his own relations and neither did he ask everyone to worship him yet God.

First, Jesus is not an avatar, He IS God, one of the Trinity. That being cleared up, I'll say I'd let him or her know I was very offended. Jesus is my Lord! To answerour 2nd question, no.

I would think they were being disrespectful of Jesus and of others' beliefs, but I would figure they must not know any better
