Don't worry about hurting his feelings. If he can't handle it then that's too bad.

You could just act wierd and obnoxious when you're in his presence. Maybe, eventually he will stop liking you.
BUT be very careful -- about the time he stops liking you - may be the time that you will begin liking him -- then you'll be asking how to win him back - which will be a much harder task once you've turned him off.

Grow up, and tell him you're not interested.
You're not worrying about his feelings, you're worrying about your feelings. You don't want to feel guilty about him being sad, or go through the unpleasantness of shooting him down.
The nicest thing you can do is make it absolutely clear you are not interested. Then he can move on. If you give him some garbage about not wanting to see anyone now, he'll keep trying, which is a waste of his time.
I'm not really trying to be mean to you here, I'm trying to give you a pep talk to do what you need to ;)

Tell him that you see him as a friend. Tell him the truth his ego may be hurt but nobody stays hurt that long. He'll get up off his feet and look for other fish in the sea.

You don't really give much background information. But the best thing to do is just tell him you value your friendship with him and just want to keep it at that for now. And turn down any requests he might make, like asking you on a date, or buying you things... you don't want to send him mixed signals. Just be truthful to him. It might hurt his feelings but its better to tell the truth than to fake something and lie.

Tell him that you are going through some real life problems right now and having a boyfriend will only compound it. You need room to breath and when and if the time is right you will call him, but you do not want any contact until that time.

Telling him straight out is the answer. Honesty.. sometimes hurts, but it's a fact of life.

It is scientifically proven that males are more sensitive of feelings. So break it down the easiest way possible.Tell the truth, kindly tell him...I'm just not interested right now,I just broke up with my exboy friend. Be easy on him though.

Well there's probably no way of not hurting him. just tell him that it's not his fault you don't like him. tell him that you're not looking to be with any one at the moment and you wouldn't mind just being friends.

first you have to learn to speak proper English and then tell him the truth if it hurts his feelings so what its better than not saying anything and him turning into a stalker
