About 1% of the population suffers from schizophrenia. Some people mistake this disorder as what was formaly known as multiple personality disorder now termed as dissocative identity disorder. The two disorders are different.

Schizophrenia has a range of symptomes involving disturbances in content of thought, form of thought, perception, affect, sense of self, motivation, behavior, and interpersonal functioning.

There are different types of schizophrenia such as catatonic type, Disorganized type, paranoid type, undifferentiated type and residual type. If you want to know the symptoms of each one you can either look it up on the net or ask on yahoo. If I see your question I will give you that info.

People with Schizophrenia suffer from these symptoms but not nec. every single one. Delusions (false beliefs) Hallucinations which is not limited to visual or hearing. The five different hallucinations are auditory (hearing) command (a voice says to take action such as a command from zoroaster to kill all black cats to rid the world of evil., visual (seeing), olfactory (smell normally foul smell), Somatic false body perceptions such as feeling bugs crawling on the skin) Gustatory, (False taste normally something foul.)

Just to note if someone has a false belief (delusion) it doesn't nec mean that they suffer from schizophrenia. It could be a delusional disorder.

Schizophrenia has 2 explanations. The biological explanation is a unbalance in the brain neurotrasmiters that cause all the symptoms. The "spiritual explanation" is that the person has one or more spirits attached to his aura. Yes I agree with you that it should not be called a mental disorder because like depression and anxiety is something that almost all the people in the world have it. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality and by significant social or occupational dysfunction. A person experiencing untreated schizophrenia is typically characterized as demonstrating disorganized thinking, and as experiencing delusions or auditory hallucinations.

For eg. a schizophrenic may report that his neighbors are spying on him which is his imagined condition.

Actually, only 1% of the world population has schizophrenia. Are you mistaking it for something else?

Schizophrenia comes in many forms. It is genetic and is believed to be caused by too much Dopamine in the brain.

What? Speak for yourself. First off, it's not "schiezofrenia." Second, if you don't know what it is, why are you saying almost all people in the world have it? Are you "skitzoid?"
