Hi. My son, age 16, could not take Ritalin as it gave him the shakes. Concerta made him have "pharmocological anorexia" and he also only had focus for 5 hours. He has now been on Strattera which is a
"round the clock" active medication. We like it as he doesn't have the shakes, it doesn't effect his eating. It does make him sleep a bit better at night because it gives him good focus most of the day so that by bedtime (9pm-9:30pm) he is ready. Also, we like it because he is also on anticonvulsant medications and paxil (for OCD) and it doesn't interfere. I would suggest you do some reading on Strattera and see if it may be something that you can ask your doctor to try you on. Good luck, take care and I hope it works as well for you as him.

I've been using a very potent St. John's Wart. It's helped me focus better. See if you'd be able to mix it with your Concerta, take it a few hours before the 3-4 hour time period, and see if it helps.

Talk to your doctor. He knows you and we don't!

It's not good to try to adjust the dosage yourself. And what works for one person, might not work for another. I'm sure your doctor will be able to help you if you explain the problem to him.
