How? With love and understanding. And, remember, that the final step in forgiveness is to FORGET the incident that is being forgiven.

Many people don't realize that MOST of the opportunities to forgive occur when the other people may, in fact, be "wrong" in what was said or done. It's a lot harder to forgive someone when you're in the right. But, it MEANS so much more.

First ask your self this>> Have I been forgiven? We must start by receiving the forgiveness that God gives us thru his son Jesus Christ.
How can we offer something to someone we ourselves do not have. If you asked me for a dollar and I had no money can I give you a dollar?>No.
Once we experience god's forgiveness and become born again then we to can act like God, like a son of God or child and forgive those who hurt us and do wrong to us. It takes the God kind of Love to forgive others. Gods love is Agape which is an unconditional love which forgives with no strings attached and with no motive.
The answer is with the Love of God.

I currently believe in some sort of reincarnation, and karma. So, nothing occurs to me that I didn't bring about by my previous actions. So, if someone does something I feel the need to forgive them for, I remember that I have done something similar to another. So, first I ask God to forgive me for doing what I perceive another to be doing to me. Then I forgive them. That way, the slate is clean.

I think this is similar to Romans, a verse that says, Thou that judgest doest the same thing.

ACTIONS speaks louder than WORDS.To FORGIVE is the hardest thing to do when a very hurtful circumstances happen. But if you give time to reflect it, then yourself will received a healing and will assist you to move on to a new journey of your life. God will bless you for that by sharing peace to the person who hurts you. Surely your giving him/her a chance to reflect too and build a better life or will humbly accept that his/ she is wrong and was forgiven. which will be carried through this person life.

oof, that's a tricky one. I think at the core of forgiveness is a release of the emotions involved in the act. It doesn't mean that the person who is forgiven gets off "scot-free" - in fact, forgiveness embraces truth and accountability.

For me personally, when someone has hurt me and I can finally truthfully say that it no longer has power over me, I have forgiven.

We let go of the negative energy towards the person because of something they did; quit thinking that they could have done something else. We let go.
We are urged to forgive each other so that Allah forgives us.

Peace

You forgive others because God forgave you. It is only God's grace that forgives our sins and we also can bring to God those hurts caused by others. Forgiveness means releasing the debt. God releases us from the debt of our sin because Jesus died for us. We also can pray "God I release the person(?) for the debt of sin and ask you to heal my heart and free me from it. Help me to be like you.
When we do not forgive it hurts us not the perpetrator. We get upset everytime we see that person or hear their name. We need to get free and you can leave it at the cross of Jesus and he will help you
