I am very much for it. Those that are against it are holding up life saving research. How about you stay out of it and also not receive any benefits from it as well. We can save some unborn for you and use the ones that will never be born anyway for research. Of course, this would also mean that you would not be allowed to benefit from a cure of cancer. So sorry, if your child get's leukemia. Mine, on the other hand would have access to a cure.
Is that a compromise that you can live with? Or do you still insist on impeding life saving research that could benefit all of the world?

That's a pretty good solution, yes.
It's pathetic that there are so many people who are willing to outright lie, claiming that embryonic stem cell research kills human beings, in order to stand in the way of this research. Astonishing immorality.

Those who oppose stem cell research were bombarded by the media because of their insistence that aborted fetuses were going to be used. As usual, the other side took it to the extreme and imagined baby factories where mothers were in vitro fertilized then made to have abortions just for the use of the stem cell. Had that been true, yeah, I'd be against it too, that's just disgusting.
However, that is not the case, now that all the facts are in. We now know they can use other stem cells from grown ups, from babies who died naturally at birth - just like in organ donation. That is agreeable to me and I think to all who originally disagreed with the concept.
To sum it up, I think you blame the wrong people ... I think the people who should be spanked is the media, they were the ones who came out with a bunch of half-truths.

Currently there are 57 open stem lines available from Adult Stem Cells that are being used in stem cell research. There are no open lines currently being used in embryonic stem cell research. The media won't tell you this. Researchers have discovered that stem cells from adult bone marrow have the same elasticity and malleability as embryonic stem cells. The media won't tell you that either. The media also neglects to tell us where we can get more adult stem cells. We can get them from our hair, bone marrow and our fat (plus many other parts of our anatomy). Now there's a way to trim up American and to help your fellow man. As far as the Amendment 2 in Missouri, it is just a means for human cloning to begin. They say that it bans it, but they will use a process call SCNT or Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer. If this amendment passes and SCNT is approved this will open the door for human cloning in the future. IS stem cell research fine? Sure with adult stem cells. Embryonic with SCNT no way. We are not God nor should we play Him anywhere at any time.

Actually, let's have a more fair system, let's keep presidents and congressmen, who are ignorant when it comes to just about anything mathematical, scientific, or technological, out of the business of "reigning in " the science. Let's make it punishable by death of them and all their progeny if they try. We can set up a board of scientists to regulate the scientists, just like the big corporations do for themselves.

Well, what you are saying borders on eugenics. And that is an even bigger debate. But in general, I am for stem cell research.

How can it be "life saving research" if millions of the unborn will have to die for it?
I would rather die than benefit from any research that was done at the expense of the unborn.

If it also means you reap all of the negative sure. My child will die eventually anyway and I believe that there are worse things than death for one who uses anothers life for their own gain,
