We can start with a lower abdomen hernia. Just above the hairline. You may get a slight "popping" sensation or a kind of pulling sensation when you cough, sneeze, lift something. You may hold your hand over it during these times and actually feel something try and "move out" pushing it back makes it feel better.
It will get worse in time, if it already hasn't and really "pop" out if not held in.
It can lead to an obstructed bowl by pinching the intestine and lead to serious (more so) surgery.
Truthfully, many doctors miss this due to the slight indications at first, until it really becomes evident.

Depends on the location..I was just diag with a hiatial which is in my esophogus. I have had chest pain acid reflux etc. I think in other areas you can usually feel it sticking out.
