I am in the Twenty First Century Scholars Program (Indiana residents only), and the only things that aren't covered are my room, my board, and my books. Can I still apply for federal aid, or any other aid, to cover the estimated $7,000-8,000 of left-over (room, board, and books) expenses?

Unless there is a clause in the 21st Century scholars program against it, you should definitely apply for federal financial aid at FAFSA.ed.gov. It will also help you tap into federal grants and even college assistance. Also, you should look for scholarships from the free membership search websites. In your sophomore year, you should look into becoming a resident advisor which could help out on the dormitory costs, but you must find out from the college when you could apply. Good luck!

Absolutly. I encourage you to get as much aid as possible. However federal aid usually won't cover indirect expense (moving, equipment). There is no reason not to try although they are getting more picky about what how much you will get when it comes to scholars progam.
Congradulations on getting into the Scholars Program and good luck with College.

You can apply for aid up to your Cost of Attendance (COA), check your Financial Aid Award Letter for your COA or ask your Financial Aid Officer.
