Yes, when it is necessary.
In the last days I will pour out my spirit on all flesh
your young men shall have visions
and the old men shall have dreams
Some are guilded by dreams and visions all through life

Yes, I know some followers of God have had visions. I also am certain that they are real and that they do happen.
I don't think every follower of God has had a vision though.

It is not given to all of us to receive visions but yes throughout time God has used many mere mortals as prophets, giving them visions and such. In the times to come I believe we may begin to see this happen more frequently as God begins to pour out his spirit onto his believers and as it says, they shall see visions and prophesy. God is not done with us yet, and only He can choose whom he wants to use as a vessel for His message.

Dude,that would be scary in a world where nobody considers anything holy anymore.No single person would believe you.
He calls men to preach.He calls men and women to teach Sunday school.He calls people to perform music in his name for his glory.
