He told me that when ever i think about suicide to tell myself that: I think i want to commit suicide, but not now, maybe later. But right now i'll have a handfull of grapes.

This was a pretty good idea. Every time that you choose to "have a handful of grapes", or anything other than commit suicide you have successfully lived life a little longer. After a few months have gone by, you will begin to realize that there are always more things to do instead of committing suicide. And then eventually your behavior pattern will change. You will find that thinking about suicide isn't even in your repertoire any longer. Changing behaviors takes one step (or choice) at a time. Good luck, and be patient.

Sometimes you have to live life just one day (grape) at a time!

Suicide is not an option is how I have to live.

Good advice. It works for other conditions, too. Alcoholics and addicts say...."I want a drink (or drug) but not right now....maybe tomorrow."

Just repeat it every day.
