As an unbeliever, I don't think there's anything to fear, AFTER you're dead. I fear the last moments before it. I fear knowing I'm going to die, to stop being there. I fear not having the time to do the million things I haven't done yet. And of course, I'm in great pain thinking of the people I'll leave behind, and never see again, and who will never see me again.
I know I'd have a brighter perspective, if I believed in the afterlife. But you know me. What would be the use of pretending I do? I just can't believe, and I'd rather stick to a more realistic vision (from my subjective point of view, of course) that after I die, it's over, instead of just fooling myself into thoughts deep inside I'm not okay with.

It's selfish, but I fear death more for my own sake than anyone elses'. As a kid I would lie in bed at night and try to imagine what it would be like to not have my five senses and not have stuff around me and all that and it would terrify me. Even though I have strong faith in God and the promise that death is not the end, I'm scared to let go of what I know.

I fear dying before my children are grown and able to take care of themselves. I used to fear the death of loved ones, but I have lived through the death of my father and my best friend, and those were two of the closest people in my life so I don't fear it as much.

Are you Christian? Do you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If so you are going to Heaven. Most Christians fear dieing, but don't fear death. Go figure. i.e. We are going to the Perfect Place forever.
If you are a Christian you will know that answer. But, I would say for those left behind!

Neither. The loved ones I live behind have accepted Jesus sacrifice on the cross, just as I have and we all know that death is just a "temporary" separation and that someday we wil have a joyous reunion in Heaven and we will never be separated again. That's the Peace that passes all understanding.

I only fear that I will die before I get to see my child grow up. There is no need to fear death itself. Why run from the inevitable. Just enjoy what you have.

I fear death because I don't want my son to have no mommy. I am secure in my relationship with Christ.
