They all do that dear. I have two Golden retrievers and it happens. They get upset stomachs. The grass settles it. Of course usually AFTER they vomit the grass and stomach bile. Hopefully it isn't on your $200,000.00 Persian rug.

Upset tummy... Eating grass is fine & it is good for them.....
Eating grass does NOT indicate worms... It will also NOT get rid of worms...
Gulping food CAN cause this so be sure all food is bite sized. If you are feeding once per day & she is scarfing her food, cut her amount in half giving her one half in the morning & one half in the evening. See if that helps.
You absolutely did the right thing by taking her to the vet. Anytime your pet does something that is not normal for it, a vet visit is always a good idea. Just keep an eye on her & if she goes off her feed or water take her to the vet again & request some blood work & thorough exam.

The swallowing air and gagging noises is like the dry heaves to a human. My dog does it too. Don't worry unless it happens all the time. The eating grass thing, well they all do that and then usually throw up. Be careful about your dog eating a lot of grass, or really long grass. My dog did it once and blocked her airway and passed out. I had to Heimlich her to clear her airway.
Some of the people above say they eat grass to get rid of worms, however my dog does it and doesn't have worms.

Sounds like worms to me. Especially since she is eating grass. Grass settles their stomachs for some reason. I've seen lots of dogs do it. Get her some worm medicine and go from there. The vet should know these things!!

can not believe the vet did not know. Dogs eat grass for 1 of 2 reasons. 1. to get the hair out of their throat. or, 2. to help get rid of worms.

she's eating something she shouldn't.
the grass helps settle their stomach...
also a wives tale that if you see a dog eating grass it means rain soon.
keep an eye on what she digs up to eat....

It may be a little acid reflux. See your vet to see what medication to give.
