I like food in AZ. I like Oreganos, definitely. It's a little pizza chain and it's got the best American Italian food. The thin pizza is great and the salads are huge. They've also got pastas and wine. I highly recommend it.

Here's a list of the locations: http://www.oreganos.com/locations.htm

It's not that people aren't interested. It's that you have to have the money and time to go out. There aren't a ton of awesome restaurants that you don't have to wait atleast an hour to get into at dinner time. Some of the answers others have left are great and I enjoy those places as well. I suggest going for lunch or an early dinner so that there's less time to wait for a table. That way you can try somewhere and see if you like it before spending the big bucks on a whole dinner:)

I work in Phoenix sometimes.

The Sportsman is a good wine/food place. There is also a great italian place in the same plaza, but I forget the name.

Ruth's Chris is good for steak

Also head over to Tempe and hit up Gordon Biersch and that old steak place just on the other side of the bridge.

I tried a great place in Tempe....called Haji Baba, on Apache. It is middle eastern food, and it was sooooooooo good. The place is kind of small, but every time I have been there, its so packed. The college students love it! Try the chicken shawerma and humus, its so darn good!
