I work with a woman in her 60's (I’m 22) and she just found out her cancer came back. She about the nicest person I've ever met and I wanted to get her something special to raise her spirits. Any suggestions?????? THANKS!

Hi Kelly. This woman is lucky to have you for a friend! Friendship and time with friends may be the most valuable 'gift' you can give to anyone with cancer. A simple card in which you share your thoughts (as you did here) with this wonderful person will make her day very special. Beyond that, a simple 'lunch date' or dinner with her will have more meaning for her than any material gift.

Hope you find this helpful. Best wishes and God bless you.

The greatest gift you can give someone going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment is YOURSELF. Be there for her. Help her maintain a normal routine in her life which will help remind her that a cancer diagnosis is not the end of life. Give her opportunities to talk, perhaps unload her cares, worries, fears, etc. Spend time with her doing things she enjoys. If she does not have a husband, go with her to her doctors appointments and keep her mind preoccupied with conversation. This is what my husband did for me during my cancer treatment, and it helped tremendously.

I am sorry to hear about your friend :(

I have survived cancer 2x, and I am 34............

Be there for here, that is a wonderful gift!
I enjoyed just getting cards in the mail, just little notes that said "HI"...I also enjoyed getting some Angels:)

God Bless

I HAVE CANCER AND THERE ISN'T MUCH THAT WILL CHEER ME UP, UNLESS YOU CAN TAKE IT AWAY AND GIVE ME BACK WHAT I HAVE LOST FROM IT. I KNOW I FEEL ALONE, LOST, NOT A REAL WOMAN ANYMORE WITH THE LOSS OF ALL MY HAIR FINGER AND TOE NAILS AND A JOB I LOVED. ASK HER WHAT HER DREAMS ARE, ASK HER IF THERE IS ANYTHING SHE REALLY WANTS TO DO. MAKE IT ALL ABOUT HER. I WANT TO FEEL LIKE A WOMAN AGAIN. BE LOVED. AND FOR GOD SAKE TREATED NORMAL. MY DREAM IS TO LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO MET MY GRANDKIDS......

Treat her to a spa day or maybe make a contribution in her name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Something like that will remind her that she's not alone and may mean the world to her. Sorry - added more details b/c it seemed pretty random. good luck
