I think perhaps that you expect too much. Why do you need to celebrate every month? Wouldn't it be more special to celebrate at the one year mark? I would not buy a gift for someone who hinted for it. I wouldn't want to buy a card because it was demanded. Gifts of time and love should be what is important. I don't know how old you are, but perhaps too young to realize what is important in a relationship. Your hinting and demanding will surely drive him away in time. Try being a giver and see how much he enjoys that. Surprise him on your next one month anniversary with a really nice dinner made by you, then spend a romantic evening snuggling with him.

About the card...you're placing way too much importance on this. So what if he got you the same card without knowing it? About the monthly dinners...stop doing this. My guess is this is causing some of the other problems. You seem to want so much from this guy that he feels you want so much from him that he can't cope. What would thrill you more...getting a card or gift monthly from this guy because he feels he's obligated? Or being surprised couple of times a year with a surprise gift he bought cause he WANTED to...not becuase he HAD to? After 38 years of marriage you learn that it's little things in a relationship that mean the most. Not flowers or diamonds. If he washes the dishes on the night you didn't because you were too tired and went to bed early...you'll appreciate that way more than that dozen roses you thought you just had to have.

sounds like your more into the material things than your boyfriend. I'd be annnoyed but take a look at your relationship. Are you happy? Do you love him?

you sound kinda demanding

he will do something on his own
