If you have health insurance, see if you have coverage for rehab. If you do, go immediately.

In any case, go to Narcotics Anonymous.

Good luck.

Here's how I did it. The biggest problem was the people I hung out with. It's nearly impossible to stop using drugs when you hang around the same people you did drugs with. Even if they know you're trying to quit you'll get offers. Misery loves company. I don't know how old you are or if you're in school but, I signed up for a couple classes at a Jr. College. Easy ones mind you. But it gave me something else to focus on. So when my friends called I'd always say I was busy studying. Or I have class tonight. I basically blew off all my friends and started over. Now it's some 17 years down the road. Those people I hung out with are all losers today. Some are dead. Half still living with their parents, while I have a successful business. Just a little food for thought.
Good luck!

Change other things about your life, as many as possible:

Move where you live, change your friends - stop seeing those who use drugs, start spending time with those who don't.

If you don't work, get a job, no matter how simple, keep busy.

If you do work, and hate your job, think about how you can change it. If you work and love your job, do more overtime, get more involved.

Get out of the house - walking, running, swimming, keep active and busy, get yourself so tired you just come home and fall into bed.

Eat nice food - healthy stuff - and spend a bit of time cooking it.

In other words, don't think about what you SHOULDN'T be doing, thing about what you SHOULD be doing.

Good luck, and if you don't stop tomorrow or next week, you will because you want to. And because you now know that fundamentally drugs are
really
quite
boring

take care

Check yourself into a inpatient rehabilitation center. Or get information on an intensive out patient rehabilitation center, They offer group discussions dealing with the effects of drug abuse and addiction, this provides education and group support. And usually also comes with individual counseling sessions. The educational aspect provides you with the necessary information to get yourself sober and clean and stay that way. Check your local yellow pages for listings. Many provide assistance on a sliding scale basis and insurance many times covers the cost. You are half way there, you have acknowledged that you have a problem, and assistance is available. I am a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. There is also the option of NA (narcotics anonymous) or AA( Alcohol Anonymous) meetings where you can choose a sponsor, someone who is also in recovery and has some time being clean and sober who wishes to support another to remain clean. Good luck to you and God bless

if you really want to then just stop, stay away from people who are doing it, selling it etc and have some will power, you will get there in the end. i am talking from experience, i wanted to stop and i just stopped, i suppose it depends what drugs you are actually using as to how hard it will be though. if you are really having difficulty then get in touch with your doctor and they should be able to give you details of groups etc that could help. good luck!

Oh, my goodness!!! Don't even think about it without close medical or psychiatric observation!!! If you are taking the drugs because you are addicted definately find a 12 Step Program. It might save your life! And meditate! Pray for God to HELP you!

Get as much help as you can get from as many people as you can get it from. Doctors, teachers, parents, siblings, friends, ANYONE. I dont know what kind of drugs you are doing, but just remember that taking drugs not only affects your life, but the lives of those who love you. I just recently lost my brother to drug use. I never even knew he was taking them, he never showed any signs or anything, I honestly never thought he would have taken any serious drugs to begin with, but one day he just never woke up. If he had ever asked for my help, I would have done anything to help. Beleive me, his wasn't the only life that was ruined because he was taking drugs.

I found that I needed a lot of support Tom and I found that support in Narcotics anonymous. I was not judged or turned away. I found there people who understood me as they had been there too. To find your nearest meeting ring 0845 3733366 between 10am and 10pm. It could well save your life (as it saved mine) and your own personal hell could be over. Give it a try Tom. Nothing to lose and so much could be yours. Good luck! Mike k
