I was on the receiving end back in 1991 when I was stationed in Saudi Arabia. I still have a good relationship with the family today, 15 years later.

I have sent military mail and gotten responses back. Being on the receiving end of military mail made me feel a LOT better and it is so exciting.

I can't tell you about receiving military mail, but I can tell you about being on the other side it is a real pick me up to the soldiers. People don't understand how much a letter from home can mean. Even from a stranger.

Yes, I have been on both ends. I was in the Army overseas and I received mail. I have also sent packages to troops overseas in Iraq through www.anysoldier.com. and I have gotten thank you cards from the troops. It does feel good, knowing that I am helping someone.

they have by no potential experienced the buzz of being deployed, or having a chum/companion deployed. of their international, absolutely everyone comes homestead each evening and no person ever has to stay 6 months to three years devoid of seeing their companion. I assume them to circumvent the question or talk ignorantly approximately it, via fact is a international that they do exactly no longer understand. those that do, properly, they do no longer properly known that their faith ought to have a stance against such. great question, very lots worth of a megastar! Edit: espresso... I convey regret for singling you out, yet I could desire to ask, how long have been you a Marine? replaced into it a 2 year hitch, or have been you a lifer? those people who survived the army for fairly a huge decision years understand that cheating is so huge-unfold WE MADE IT A PUNISHABLE OFFENSE. We additionally understand that almost all of our servicemembers are Christians. We did no longer make the guideline for non-Christians, we made it via fact it replaced into inflicting issues for instruments everywhere. Hooah!

Yes, I've been in Adopt A Platoon for over 3 years. I get anywhere from 1 to 4 new soldiers a year. I'd say half respond, and when they do it is so much fun to send them goodies and get to know them!

I have. I did several campaigns through adoptaplatoon.org and had several chaplains write me back saying "Thanks! and giving details of their mission" We also adopted a marine we sent care packages to, and I recieved emails from him AND his wife! They were both so gracious and thankful. It was a wonderful experience. I'd say I've gotten repsonses more than 50% of the time I have participated in a campaign.
My husband is in the Air Force and has yet to deploy, but I'd like to think he'll be supported when he does.

My boyfriend was due to ship out to Iraq this past June and thankfully he didn't have to leave. However, I looked into sending care packages to him and found out that you can send them for free! Care packages are a great way to make our soldiers feel better
